Welcome to Jubels Printing Company: where tradition meets innovation.
The oldest origins of the company lie in 1821, when Jan Heijnis Tsz. (Teuniszoon) establishes bookstore Heijnis. After only a year and a half he purchased type materials and a hand press to start working as a printer. After his death in 1879, the business passed into the hands of his two unmarried daughters, who were mainly engaged in the book business. They left the printing and publishing business to master printer Klaas Woudt (1857-1923), who eventually took over the business, including the bookstore.
The company remained in the hands of the Woudt family for three generations. Klaas Woudt, the third generation, transferred the company in 1976 to Ab van Heek and Ben Heesen, until then employees of Heijnis Printing Company. In 1983 the printing company merged with Schipper Drukwerk, also from Zaandijk; from then on Heijnis & Schipper Drukkerij was the name.
The last owners are Maurice and Marjolein Lensink, who bought the company in 1996. After this takeover, they invested heavily in the premises and equipment, so that work is done according to the latest technology.
It is remarkable that for more than 200 years printing was made in the same place by the same company. Heijnis & Schipper is the oldest printing company in the Zaan region. As of 2022, Heijnis & Schipper is proud to be part of Printing Company Jubels B.V.
